Instead of using the usual option of staying at a hotel, we decided to use Airbnb for our accommodation this time round. In Tokyo, we stayed with a couple in an area near the Ikebukuro Station. From Ikebukuro Station, it is near the fourth station on the Tobu Tojo Line. The house has a traditional tatami-style room.

In the afternoon, our plan to visit the Meiji Shrine was postponed during to rain. Instead, we decided to look for food. Where else? At one of the many underground food mart synonymous with Japan shopping centres.

The story does not end here. On the way back from Kamakura the next day, we managed to take a stroll in the grounds of Meiji Shrine finally. Even though it was near closing time, people were still streaming in.
